Welcome to Small Things - together it will get better
What shopping habbits are the easiest to change
What ways can we avoid taking single use plastic home?
How much packing do we need for our products?
Forget plastic or even paper bags, give material bags a go. They are more hygenic, as you can easily wash them regularly.
Are there places in your area where you can refill your items? Often items like spices and tea are cheaper to refill then replace. Also did you know there is plastic in most tea bag linings.
Buying one banana, or even a bunch, well that doesn't need a bag. 2 apples, 4 carrots, even a lettuce; does that really need a bag? If you're buying a bag of beans, sure, then try a reusable veggie bag. Hey, it's washable.
How many products do you buy where the item is mostly water? More then you realise. Try a concentrated, or dehydrated version of some of the products you love. Then put them into your old container, and just add water. You'll save a tonne of packaging.
Take a step back from fast fashion. What 2nd hand shops, or even 2nd hand boutiques are in your area?
